The "Wings and Wildflowers" Collection
This collection celebrates the beauty of nature and the elements that dwell in this beauty and get to call it their home, such as birds, flora and fauna. Whether it’s a tiny sparrow, which feels very ordinary, but is a sweet little cherub finding it’s peace among colorful wildflowers. Or a group of little Sandpipers scurrying playfully along the shoreline, darting in and out as the waves chase them. This collection is a reminder that moments of joy, peace and beauty can be found in the simplest of things. It doesn’t always have to be extravagant, rare or extraordinary.
This body of work is a continuation of my earlier Birds and Blooms series, which began a few years ago and was inspired by the feathered visitors that frequent my little backyard garden.
Recently, a new found love of bird watching sparked by the tv show “Residence” encouraged me to keep exploring this theme. While the style of this new collection has evolved slightly, the heart of it remains the same: capturing the joy, beauty, and gentle presence of our winged friends among wildflowers.
This particular collection of paintings was created in a minimalistic style, placing the spotlight on the birds themselves, set against the simple beauty of their natural surroundings, whether it’s the leafy greens of the trees, the vibrant hues of blooming flowers, or the calm blue waters of the lake.
