ARTISTIC STYLE FOR CONSIDERATION

Pooja’s paintings can be considered a mix between both realistic and impressionistic styles. She loves to capture the light and energy of the moment with expressive brushstrokes, vivid colors and textures. She also captures and includes all the details in the surroundings, such as the reception ballroom, or outdoor landscape during the ceremony, or the wedding arch filled with pretty florals and greenery, etc.

Before the wedding day, Pooja works closely with the bride and groom to select the pose they prefer in the portrait, such as first kiss at the ceremony, first walk down the aisle, first dance at the reception, or any other creative vision they may have. She also works with the couple to decide the number of guests and individuals to include in the portrait.

Please note, Pooja’s style of painting is highly representational and while she loves to capture all the minor details exactly as they are, a painting is not meant to be an exact likeness - it’s an interpretation, not a photographic copy.

THE PROCESS

On the day of the wedding, Pooja and her assistant arrives at the venue 1.5 - 2 hours before the ceremony to set up and paint the background of the venue. She will take reference photos of the space and also the couple in their preferred pose. She paints the scene throughout the reception until the end of the night and interacts with guests as they watch her paint.

At the end of the night, the painting comes back to Pooja’s studio so that the finishing details, touch ups and varnishing can be completed and the painting is perfect before handing off to the bride and groom. The finished piece can be expected to be delivered or shipped (at no additional cost) no later than 6-8 weeks after the wedding date.

THE INVESTMENT

Packages below provide an estimate of pricing, which vary based on canvas size, the time frame of the ceremony and reception, and the number of people included in the painting. Packaging and shipping costs (if necessary) are included, but travel fees are not included. Pooja is located in Charlotte, NC and will travel across the northeast and southeast US, but a travel fee may be applied depending on location.

A 25% deposit and a signed agreement are required to secure the date. The remaining balance will be required 1 week before the wedding. I allow a small incremental payment plan till the week leading to the event date.

What is live wedding painting?

Live wedding painting is the creation of an original artwork during your wedding day. As your celebration unfolds, I paint the chosen scene in real time and later complete the final details in my studio, resulting in a one-of-a-kind heirloom for you.

How long does the painting take to finish?

A foundational composition and majority of the painting is completed live at the wedding within the booked hours. After the event, I refine details, enhance colors, and finalize the artwork in my studio before delivery. Depending on the size and detail of your painting, the number of hours spent in the studio can vary, but the painting will be ready for out of state shipping, or local delivery or pickup within 6-8 weeks after the event.

What moments of the wedding do you paint?

I can paint any scene you want! But, most couples choose the ceremony, first dance, or a romantic portrait style scene. I work with you beforehand to select the moment that best reflects your story.

What kind of material do you use?

I paint with high quality Acrylic paint on a stretched canvas. I like working with heavy layers of paints forming thick, luscious textures all throughout the canvas.

When should we book live wedding painting?

Dates are limited each season, and many couples reserve 6-12 months in advance to secure their wedding date.

Do you travel for weddings outside the Carolinas?

Yes - I am available for destination weddings across the Northeast, and Southeast US. Travel and accommodation fees may apply depending on location.

How much space do you need at the venue?

I typically require a small, well-lit area (about the size of a cocktail table) with access to power if available. I coordinate with your planner or venue ahead of time.

What happens if the wedding timeline changes?

Wedding days naturally evolve. I remain flexible and adjust the painting process to ensure the final artwork still captures your chosen moment beautifully.

How many people can be included in the painting?

The primary focus is usually the couple, with select guests or surroundings included depending on canvas size and package. Additional figures can often be added during studio refinement.

Do you offer customizations or add-ons?

Yes- options may include larger canvases, additional figures, framing options, or fine art prints for family members.
